Itineraries
Gradara
Gradara is an ancient fortified village located inland on the Marche-Romagna Riviera, not far from Cattolica and the sea. It is set against a pleasant hilly landscape. It is known for its historic Malatesta Fortress, which can be visited and contains, in addition to the armory, a torture chamber, a chapel, and several rooms with original 15th- and 16th-century furniture.
San Marino
The State of San Marino is the third-smallest country in Europe and the oldest republic in the world. Situated on the slopes of Mount Titano, San Marino has its own mint, its own stamps, its own football team, and its own army. Not to be missed are the three magnificent fortifications connected by walkways to the citadel below, enclosed by a triple ring of walls. From any point in the territory, especially from the top of its mountain, you can enjoy a unique and unforgettable view, spanning the Emilia-Romagna countryside and the hills of the Marche and Montefeltro regions, all the way to the Adriatic Sea.
Urbino
Situated at an altitude of 485 meters, Urbino has maintained its status as a center of art and culture over the centuries. Its Renaissance heart is the Palazzo Ducale, the city's symbol and now home to the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, which houses numerous masterpieces, including paintings by Piero della Francesca and Titian. Other points of interest include Raphael's House, where the artist was born and where one of his early frescoes can be admired, as well as the 15th-century rooms and furnishings; the neoclassical Cathedral; the University Palace; and the churches of San Domenico, San Francesco, and San Sergio.
San Leo
In the Marecchia Valley, about 30 km from Rimini, San Leo stands on a huge rock mass, accessible by a single road cut into the rock. At the highest point of the rocky outcrop stands the Rocca, an impregnable fortress that was expanded and converted into a prison around 1600, housing illustrious prisoners such as Count Cagliostro and Felice Orsini. The view from San Leo is one of the most beautiful and distinctive in the region: the vista sweeps across the surrounding mountains and down the Marecchia Valley to the sea.
Frasassi
The Frasassi Caves, located within the Gola della Rossa and Frasassi Regional Natural Park in the province of Ancona, span 30 kilometers and represent one of the most magnificent and fascinating underground itineraries in the world. These underground karst caves were discovered in 1948. You can opt for a tourist itinerary, accessible to all, or experience the thrill of a speleological tour.
